Translation INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS WITH PAPER GLASSES:Did you know not everyone sees the same? Some see things blurrier than others.(We added a visual example).Put on the Paper Glasses, look at things closely and far away.If you notice any difference or can focus better on objects, tell your teacher. Entry Summary An estimate of 75% of school dropout cases in Mexico are related to visual impairment; but it’s a real challenge to reach all schools to apply eye examinations student by student, specially in isolated communities.Education in Mexico is currently regulated by the Secretariat of Public Education (Spanish: Secretaría de Educación Pública) (SEP). Education standards are set by this Ministry at all levels except in "autonomous" universities chartered by the government (e.g., Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México). Even accreditation of private schools is accomplished by a mandatory approval and registration with this institution, so its no easy task for an association like Save The Children to enter schools. We created a visual test that could keep many children at school; the challenge was reaching them fast. The solution was simple, using something that students already have at school as media.
