案例简介：Photos by @amivitale | On this Earth Day, I'm shining a spotlight on the incredible people who work hard to protect wildlife. The plight of wildlife has received much needed attention, but very little has been said about the communities on the front lines. We often forget that the best protectors are often local communities. Their efforts are ultimately the best immunization against forces that threaten both their wildlife and way of life. Here, Anne Ledakanya, the first woman Samburu guide in northern Kenya, greets old friend Fupi, an orphaned giraffe who was successfully released back to the wild at @sararacamp. Years after his reintroduction, Fupi often comes to check in on the people who rescued him. This is just one of many stories that was covered during a series of visual storytelling workshops that I was proud to have shared with 40 conservationists from across Kenya. Photography has the unique ability to transcend language, helping us understand our deep connections to one another and to all life on this planet. It is the ultimate tool for creating empathy, awareness, and making sense of the world we share.
