案例简介：Photo by @ prasen.yadav / Growing up on a farm, I always knew the great effort of trying to grow something out of the land. But I realized that effort quadruples in the Himalaya. Over the past few years, I've documented some of the highest farms in the Himalaya. During summers, when the snow melts, the local communities can farm. Depending on location, they grow a few cash crops like potatoes, barley, and peas. While both men and women do the muscle work like plowing, sowing, and harvesting, women mainly are responsible for maintaining the crops. In this picture, women harvest peas in the Spiti Valley, in Himachal Pradesh. Their faces don't tell the story of the hardship and the level of uncertainty that climate brings in for these people. I saw crops spoil due to unexpected snowfall, and I saw trucks full of harvest spoiled due to roadblocks—and still, they take a chance on their farms every year, just like all the farmers in this world. @insidenatgeo
