How could Audi showcase its industry leading LED light technology, cut through the noise of one of the worlds biggest sporting events and celebrate the sprit ‚Vorsprung’ while everyone was focused on the games.Introducing the Audi LED Scoreboard - 28 brand new Audi A8s stacked in 45 shipping containers, connected to real time data from FIFA and their headlights synchronized together to form the world’s brightest scoreboard.At a prime location in Greenpoint, the Audi LED Scoreboard beamed all 171 goals from the competition across New York City.This audacious PR stunt positioned a low interest, Audi safety feature (LED headlight technology) front and centre during the World’s biggest sporting spectacle of the year. And people took notice. Following Germany’s defeat of Brazil 7 to 1, a quick real time response featuring the LED scoreboard placed Audi in the top 10 brand tweets of the entire competition. Further exposure was generated through numerous features of the scoreboard on marketing and tech blogs and online PR including Creativity, Adage and Gizmodo – resulting in millions of likes and shares worldwide.
