As family dynamics are becoming more complicated, we need things that bring us together and help us better relate. With that sentiment in mind, this unflinchingly honest film looks at family dynamics on a granular level by delving into the natural changes and rhythms of family life. The summer months offer ample time for family bonding, so back-to-school was the ideal time to talk about Sprocket. We sought to explore how it can feel to lose the familial closeness of summer when school begins, but tangible photographs––now effortlessly printed on a handheld Sprocket––can transport us back to treasured moments spent together. We aimed to create a film that resonated with families across the world regardless of location or language. BriefExplanation Back-to-school was the ideal time to talk about Sprocket, a pocket-sized printer designed for smartphones. We sought to explore how it can feel to lose the familial closeness of summer when school begins through a relationship rarely depicted in advertising: the changing dynamic between a father and his teenage daughter.
