案例简介：Photo by @stephenwilkes / Honored to share my latest Day to Night image of the extraordinary installation “In America: Remember” along the National Mall in Washington, D.C.—a tribute to the almost 700,000 lives lost to the coronavirus pandemic. For more than 30 hours I photographed over 4,000 frames with my assistant @lennychristopher to create this single panoramic image. We shot from a crane 45 feet above the installation, capturing the sunrise over the National Museum of African American History and Culture. As your eye pans diagonally across the photograph, day turns into night. Of all the Day to Night images I’ve created, this one is unique: it illustrates a loss of life that's unprecedented in American history. The exhibit was created by the artist @suzannefirstenberg on 20 acres (8 ha) along the mall, in the shadow of the Washington Monument. A sea of white flags pays tribute to those who have died from COVID-19 and many are personalized by loved ones. As Suzanne aptly put it: “The exhibition captures the essence of one family’s grief and magnifies it to the nation.” I wanted this photograph to reflect the sense of hope that we will come out of this. It’s a moment of reflection—and hopefully a moment when we finally can come together. In the Day to Night series, epic landscapes are portrayed from a fixed camera angle, capturing fleeting moments of humanity and nature as light passes in front of the lens over the course of a full day.
