A recent campaign for Sky set out to prove that data compliance doesn’t have to be dull. The campaign, created by Table19, sought to re-permission Sky’s 22,000-strong database of customers who'd engaged with Sky in the past but lacked the compliant audit trail. Although this meant they’d been interested in Sky before, in some instances engagement could have been as long as nine years ago.Sky’s ambition has always been about innovation and about giving customers new things and a better choice. By tapping into this mindset, Sky set out to create a unique and creative communication that inspired customers about their cutting-edge technology – reminding them why they chose Sky in the first place – while drawing upon the ‘fear of missing out’ factor.Sky sent their customers a personalised email that notified them of a hypothetical next-generation ‘mood-sensing’ remote control that selects TV shows depending on how you’re feeling.
