案例简介：Photos by @johnstanmeyer / When I arrived at Samvel Torosyan’s home in Armenia, I was welcomed as family and fed like a relative, with plates of stringy cheese and fresh fruit and many glasses of Armenian cognac. Samvel began sharing stories his ancestors told him of a mountain village in eastern Turkey called Sasun. A brawny fellow with a deep voice and near pickle-size fingers, he told me he could sing—and began a medley of seven songs, each more emotional than the last. Samvel kindly allowed me to record these songs, as if they would be lost from memory, evaporated by time. Moved by his tone, passion, and often tearful expression, I told Samvel I was traveling to the Anatolia region in a few days, making what felt like an unfulfillable promise to somehow find his ancestral village, today called Sason. A few weeks later, lost on unpaved, winding roads high in the mountains, I found it! There I met the town's only remaining ethnic Armenian family. Never did I imagine on that afternoon with Samvel’s family that I might find people who could be their relatives. The video is a short excerpt of a much longer song called "Kele Lao“ (which translates as Let’s Go Home, or Come Hither, Child).
