    案例简介:When Michael Chanak Jr. joined P&G in the mid-1980s, a time when being gay was not openly discussed, especially in the workplace and the AIDS epidemic was rampant. P&G had found a niche with Peridex—a prescription mouthwash used to treat thrush in people suffering from HIV/AIDS. Despite selling products to the LGBTQ+ community, P&G had no language protecting these individuals within its company policies. Michael, a vocal gay rights activist, wanted to change that. Progress — initiated by a few brave employees often in the face of strong resistance — helped to change our culture, shape the company attitude and strengthened our commitment to the LGBTQ+ community. In 1992, P&G became one of the first Fortune 500 companies to add sexual orientation to its equal employment opportunity (EEO) statement of diversity. In 2018, we partnered with @greatbigstory to produce, "The Words Matter", a short film highlighting Chanak's perseverance and leadership to inspire to our company to change policy to protect the rights of gay people against discrimination at the workplace and ultimately improve the lives of LGBTQ+ workers across the country.
