案例简介：MediaSpend Karen O is one of the most recognized female rock musicians of our time as the front woman for Yeah Yeah Yeahs. In her original track YO! MY SAINT produced by Daniele Luppi, Karen O composed a duet between an artist and his muse featuring vocals by Michael Kiwanuka. The song’s inspiration comes from the true life love affair between musician Ryuichi Sakamoto and model Sayoko Yamaguchi, who was also muse to designer Kenzo Takada. Karen O distilled these references into a song that’s part mournful rock and part delicate lullaby. EntrySummary In connection with KENZO’s Spring/Summer 2018 collection, which featured an ensemble of 83 Asian models, YO! MY SAINT continues the celebration of Asian references that remain strong with KENZO’s rich history. Inspired by founder Kenzo Takada’s original muses, model and right-hand Sayoko Yamaguchi and Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto, the film explores the deep connection between a photographer and their muse using an Asian lead cast - including Alex Zhang Hungtai, Jessica Henwick and Kiko Mizuhara. With this project, Kenzo reached audiences not only through Youtube, Instagram and through earned media, but also through all notable music streaming channels including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and Google Music. Karen O and Kenzo produced a limited edition vinyl as well as held screening parties in LA, Paris and Dubai. BriefExplanation Director in collaboration with Karen O, YO! MY SAINT explores the unrequited love between a photographer and his model muse. The film opens on the set of photoshoot where the photographer, played by Alex Zhang Hungtai, flashes back to his missing love, played by Jessica Henwick, while taking photos of his current subject, Kiko Mizuhara. The photographer and muse sing to one another during makeup and hair tests, photo sittings and karaoke screens through poignant yet emotive lyrics. Seemingly blocking out the world around the them, they focus solely on each other, but never seem to connect. As the song ends literally and metaphorically on screen in the setting of a Karaoke bar, the photographer and his muse are left with a sense of longing, and the desire to let go.
