Jose is the mayordomo (or manager) of a group of 25 men who prune a cherry field. He has been working in the fields for 20 years. He was a worker himself for 10 years before becoming a mayordomo, so he says he's conscientious of giving people breaks and having ice water available all day. He has had scares with people getting heat strokes, and says he is prepared for an emergency.
