Lehto, Marco Werner was the last outing for the R8 and another Le Mans win, completing one of the most successful runs in the race’s history. 4. The 2012 R18 e-tron quattro was the next generation of 24-hour racer with its hybrid powertrain and closed cockpit. It was first driven to victory at Le Mans by Marcel Fässler, André Lotterer and Benoit Tréluyer, and remained unbeaten three consecutive times from 2012 to 2014.
