Located 650 light-years away from Earth, a planetary nebula forms when a star undergoes its final stages of nuclear fusion. During the death of a star, ultraviolet radiation is being pumped from the hot stellar core, causing it to glow. The dusty outer layers are unraveling at the seams and into space.
