It's part of my project, Santa Barbara, in which I've cast actors to play my family as a way of reimagining a part of my childhood in California. Through a series of staged photographs and narrative video, I've started to reconsider my family history from my mother's perspective, relating to her for the first time as a woman, rather than as her daughter, and coming to terms with the profound sacrifices she made to become an American. #santabarbara #americandream
