It was the last opportunity of the season for this lone bear to feast on salmon before crawling into its den for the winter. Several months ago, the Army Corps of Engineers denied a permit for the proposed Pebble Mine that would have caused irreversible harm to local salmon and grizzly populations in nearby Alaska.
