It was a double funeral for Roberts and his mother, Alexteen Alvira Roberts, who passed away of natural causes at 104 years old. Statistics show that people of color are disproportionately impacted by COVID-19 both in the U.K. and the U.S. Across England, funeral directors of different faiths and backgrounds are working to maintain tradition and adhere to religious instructions for burial.
