If Italian buildings could talk, what stories would they tell? After decades spent in oblivion, Italy’s hidden wonders rise up and get loud, to tell their story to all Italians before it gets lost in time. To do so, they use the only instrument available – their own intercoms- and turn it into a new communication media. That’s how Open Doorbells was born. It’s an instant operation using home intercoms for the very first time to intercept passersby and trigger their curiosity about what’s hiding behind the doors they ignore every day, to discover it on Sunday October 18th during FAIMarathon, a nationwide event by FAI opening more than 500 invisible monuments. The idea comes from McCann Worldgroup Milan, and was developed with audio production house Eccetera and local fablab Opendot.
