The awareness campaign began with an exhibition. 12 portraits of dead farmers were created from dry, burnt hay, displayed and auctioned. The very cause of their undoing proved to be a beacon of hope for them. Photographs of the hay portraits were replicated in print ads and posters and used to drive traffic to the exhibition held in Mumbai.
