For years he helped high schoolers find confidence through the Dancing Diamonds, a majorette-style dance line modeled after Historically Black Colleges and Universities.“It’s a movement celebrating Black culture,” he says. “It opened their mindsets to how important they are, how valued they are and taught them teamwork. But I would say it also taught them that nothing you want in life comes easy.
