Through the traditions of Tony’s world-famous Power Station Studios, Bongiovi Acoustic Labs brings unique, cutting-edge and high-quality sound to people and industries all over the world through patented DPS (Digital Power Station) technology. After Tony Bongiovi conferred with prominent medical doctors, technologists and researchers, Bongiovi Medical & Health Technologies (BMHT) was born and now holds the patent rights for DPS in the medical and health fields. The MDPS (Medical Digital Power Station) algorithm is specially calibrated and verified for commercial and medical applications. Bongiovi came to us with the idea to incorporate their patented audio technology into a medical device in the hopes of further expanding their brand into other industries. Our budget was roughly $70,000. As Bongiovi Acoustic Labs continues to engage on a legitimate path to obtain FDA and CE approvals, the Aria is still technically considered a prototype. Outcome Through our strategic partnership, we’re able to move Bongiovi Acoustic Labs’ technology into the world of healthcare. Aria’s remote monitoring capabilities would minimize clinic visit frequency and its related costs, while increasing doctors' ability to check on patient progress. Based on the conservative pricing of the Aria, almost 160,000 doctors in the US are likely to find the product’s proposition relevant for benefits that impact both a healthy community and a healthy wallet, proving that cost-effective telemedicine can be profitable. Focusing only on two relevant patient diagnoses, Heart Disease and COPD, Aria may be able to positively impact almost 4mm US adult patients (1.5mm on Medicare/Medicaid and 2.4mm with other insurances). Medicare and Medicaid patients benefiting from the use of the modestly priced Aria could also simultaneously generate $222.6mm with device sales, while doctors could receive $1.1bn from US government for monitoring device outputs. Execution Right from inception, it was very important for us to empathize with our target audience while we define the scope, competition and culture in which the Aria belongs. By combining carefully studied ergonomics and user experience in the fields of audio technology and healthcare, we discovered new possibilities for Bongiovi in the future of telemedicine. Synthesizing functionality and design, our development process included: research, insights, prototyping, experience maps, usability testing and field studies. In order to maintain cost-efficiency and maximize scalability, we chose to design the mobile telemedicine platform for Android devices. The platform allows patient data to be visualized, stored and monitored remotely. Since the mobile app was designed to do most of the heavy lifting, we were able to build the Aria’s acquisition unit using low cost, 3D-printed materials, in turn, creating a more affordable, mobile telemedicine solution. CampaignDescription The Aria is a prototype of a digital stethoscope and a design approach to audio innovation in healthcare that delivers a cost-effective telemedicine solution to those in need around the world. By incorporating Bongiovi’s patented MDPS (Medical Digital Power Station) Algorithm, we were able to design a more affordable system, in turn, making healthcare more accessible. The Aria aims to show that audio technology can be made available to more people, in more affordable ways. Bongiovi's algorithm has the ability to remaster audio in real time. It allows the Aria to instantly map the shortcomings lost in digital conversion, restore frequency responses and deliver advanced audio quality. Through our customized telemedicine platform, the Aria offers remote patient monitoring to healthcare professionals and patients across the globe.
