Now the Cuban government is taking up the herculean task of treating its citizens with locally-produced vaccines. At the moment, there are two in phase III clinical trials, Soberana 02 and Abdala. There is also a nasal spray vaccine in the works. The government hopes to have a vaccine widely available this month. It's currently inoculating front-line workers and at-risk populations.
