We created a digital video on International Women's Day, for MSP Steel, a Indian brand dealing in steel products like TMT, Structurals, Pipes etc. The idea was to break the myth that infrastructure is 'man-made'. To break the bias that only men can work in this steel/concrete/building industry, we conducted a social experiment where we asked some people across age group what comes to mind when we say 'man-made'. Pat came the reply as bridges, buildings, roads etc. When same people were asked 'what comes to mind when we say women-made?' the answers were typical... "home, household, children's future, food etc". This brought to light the pre-conceived bias we have in our minds that women can never be associated with infrastructure, architecture etc. Then, as an eyeopener we took them through an exhibition on the achievements of top women architects who have built some marvelous things that we are mostly unaware off as the world does not celebrate them enough. This broke their perception and made them realize that there is more to the word 'women-made'. The film celebrated women and their substance in a male dominated industry.
