案例简介:Twinkle, twinkle, little stars!🎶✨ About 20,000 light-years away in the Carina spiral arm of the Milky Way, thousands of sparkling young stars are nestled within giant nebula NGC 3604. This stellar jewel box, first discovered by Sir John Herschel in 1834, is one of the most luminous young star clusters in the Milky Way, and the densest concentration of very massive stars known in the galaxy. Bathed in gas and dust the cluster formed in a huge rush of star formation thought to have occurred about a million years ago. The super hot blue stars in the middle are responsible for strong ultraviolet radiation and fast winds, carving out a huge cavity in the gas. These gaseous monoliths are a few light-years tall and point to the central cluster. The stalks may be incubators for new stars!
