案例简介：Photo by @simonnorfolkstudio I From a selection of work I call Lost Capital, from a London under lockdown: The Guards Crimean War Memorial in Pall Mall is fronted by a statue of Florence Nightingale, celebrated for her work in making better hospitals for wounded soldiers. She's known as the Lady with the Lamp, from the light she carried on ward rounds, but she also could have been called the Lady with the Owl, after the pet owl that lived in her apron pocket. After it died, she had it stuffed, and it now resides in the museum in St Thomas’ Hospital. Long after it had been disproved, Nightingale clung to the miasma theory of disease: that cholera and the like were carried in foul air, when we now know they transmit mostly through dirty water.
