One of the last out of the Christmas commercial gate, Tesco has arrived with a Back to the Future-inspired story of a time-travelling delivery van. Marking the 100th anniversary of Tesco, the campaign celebrates the centenary by visiting a number of iconic decades in the store's history, from Dickensian London to Churchill's 10 Downing Street, and 90s rave culture to 80s TV favourite, Jim Bowen and Bullseye. Created by BBH London and directed by Traktor the TV element of the campaign features a 90-second hero film [above] which will also air as a 60-second cut, two 30s, plus a series of 10-second spots. “Tesco have been helping the nation deliver Christmas for 100 years," said Tom Drew, Creative Director at BBH London. "That’s pretty magical. We just needed to add a little sparkle to the story.”
