Before she had built up enough confidence to come over, she would approach from behind. Like many curious predators, she uses the element of surprise when investigating new objects. The trick is let them think they have the upper hand by purposely turning your back. Then once they’ve been close for a while, slowly turn around. This works great with seals ... please don’t try it with sharks!
