案例简介:Kids battling cancer at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis are often too sick to travel and see the world beyond their hospital room - so we brought the world to them. Expedia employees set out on adventures all over the globe, and using 360 cameras, streamed their travel experiences back to the hospital in Memphis, in real-time from thousands of miles away. This immersive, 360 live experience was able to instantly transport the kids from their hospital rooms to places in the world they could only dream of going. This immersive, 360° live experience was able to instantly transport kids at St. Jude’s from their hospital rooms to places in the world they could only dream of going. It’s the first VR experience, without the VR headset, live. Campaign Description If the kids can’t travel due their illness, we will bring the world to these kids with a 360º immersive live VR experience - without the need of using a VR headset. Outcome Expedia's “Dream Adventures” gave kids who need it most the chance to forget about their cancer treatments for the day and experience the healing power of travel. In June 2016, the installation will become a permanent part of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, so more kids can get out and see the world. Strategy Expedia’s “power of travel” has the objective to show the world how traveling can not only make you a better person, but the world a better place. By bringing the world to kids unable to travel, Expedia can show the difference that travel makes on people's lives.
