There are incredible essential workers that are fighting an entire global pandemic. How can you say we don’t belong here, when we are working so hard to heal this country’s community right now?" said Veronica Velasquez.Veronica Velasquez works as a physical therapist at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in South Los Angeles. She works with COVID-19 patients whose strength and endurance have been compromised. She lives with her parents, who are high risk, and fears she will bring the virus home. Veronica’s parents are from the Philippines, but she was born in Saudi Arabia and then moved to the United States when she was 11.
