J’ai quitté tout ce qui me rattachait au monde de la (sur)consommation pour me tourner vers un univers d’échange, d’écoute, d'entraide et de bienveillance. J’ai voulu faire du bénévolat mais je me suis vite rendue compte qu’il n’y avait pas de sites pratiques pour rendre service aux autres. Et qu’en plus, je manquais de temps. Avec mon associé, j’ai donc créé WELP, une plateforme qui met en relation des bénévoles animés de bonne volonté et des personnes en situation d’isolement, qui ont besoin d’aide ou de services. Parce que la technologie n’est pas accessible à tous, notamment aux personnes âgées, il faut faire attention à la fracture numérique. La technologie doit être bien utilisée pour avoir un impact positif. »Marie Treppoz, co-fondatrice de WELP ***“ I left a career of over 20 years in marketing because I wanted to get involved in a social project. I gave up everything that tied me to a life of (over)consumption in order to be part of a world of exchanges, listening, mutual support and kindness. I wanted to volunteer but I quickly realised that there weren’t any practical websites for helping others. And, what’s more, I didn’t have the time. So I and my business partner created WELP, a site that puts enthusiastic volunteers in touch with those suffering from isolation, who need help or services. Because technology isn’t accessible to everyone, in particular the elderly, we need to be careful about the digital divide.
