案例简介:Photos by Danielle Villasana @davillasana / Kataleya Nativi Baca, a transgender woman from Honduras, fled home after her brother beat her up, arriving at the U.S./Mexico border in September 2019. She was only weeks away from her number being called (to seek asylum) when borders closed due to COVID-19 in early 2020. “From morning to night, everything fell apart,” said Kataleya. The pandemic exacerbated challenges with employment and housing on top of transphobia and xenophobia. Explore more images of Kataleya’s brave journey in a project highlighting migration’s impact on women around the globe by the Everyday Projects (@everydayeverywhere) and National Geographic.
