Enceladus is the most reflective world in the solar system, with a water-ice surface that averages temperatures around -330ºF (-201ºC). Beneath the icy surface lies a vast ocean of salty water, which sprays jets of icy particles between the moon’s cracks that make up one of Saturn’s iconic rings. With hydrothermal vents, a salt ocean, and hydrocarbons, Enceladus has reshaped our understanding and search for where life may exist in our solar system and universe.
